After many days

After many days, I stepped out of our apartment block, within our Whispering Palms Complex. Just a half-hour afternoon walk, to move my limbs and take in some sun.

With lockdown, understandably, there were just a few people around, going about their business. Cyclone Tauktae’s rains the other day have washed the trees and streets clean. The air too.

Toddy Palm (Borassus flabellifer)
Peepal (Ficus religiosa)
Bougainvillea (Bougainvillea glabra)
Peepal sapling (Ficus religiosa)
Papaya (Carica papaya)
Mango (Mangifera indica)
White Bougainvillea (Bougainvillea glabra)
Yellow Trumpetbush (Tecoma stans)
Common Purslane red (Portulaca oleracea)
Common Purslane yellow (Portulaca oleracea)
Hibiscus bud (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis)
Pink Pentas (Pentas lanceolata)
Sunset bells (Chrysothemis pulchella)
Bengal Clock Vine (Thunbergia grandiflora)

Big trees, small shrubs, creepers, all looking to survive. Just as we are.

I wish the cyclone could have blown away the Covid virus and the immense sorrow and suffering it has caused.

While templating this post, I saw a message on WhatsApp. Little things to cheer about and make us smile.

Take care everyone.
