Among the things preserved by my dad was this Indian Airlines Corporation “Passenger Ticket & Baggage Check”, Bangalore-Hyderabad on IC404. The ticket jacket is unlaminated cardboard (not thin paper). Note the Indian Airlines logo, quite different from what we were used to seeing later.
The passenger coupon entries are hand-written, with the passenger copy (not good for travel) being a carbon paper impression.
Date of issue 17 May 64.
Fare Rs 107/-.
Baggage free allowance 20 kg.
Date (of travel) 18 May.
Time 1450.
Reservation status OK.
This was probably a hopping flight Blr-Hyd-Del, as online records show that IC404 seems to have been Blr-Del.
51 years later, Indian Airlines no longer exists (it was merged with Air India), but similar flights for next day travel are available at Rs 2800 or so.
